May Day March

May 1, 2014 | All Day

Students and allies will be participating in the May Day march in downtown Los Angeles.  The March will originate in the Chinatown Dragon Gates and will continue to the Federal Detention Center in downtown Los Angeles as a symbol of the immigrant workers and their past and present struggles.

Beyond Academia: What Can I Do With My Degree?

Join us for an evening reception with a panel of philanthropy and research professionals in the fields of labor and employment, social justice, and immigration, as we discuss career options beyond academia.  Panelists include:

  • Byron Lopez, Research Analysist, United Long-Term Care Workers Union (ULTCW), Labor Studies Alumni '10
  • Luis Sandoval, Development Manager, Building Skills Partnership
  • Paul Sykes, Field Examiner, National Labor Relations Board
